bank 1 - Game Vertical Bank - sound effects, shield processing (AI
and human paddle positioning)
bank 2 - Display Kernel - dragon graphics
bank 3 - Display Kernel - dragon graphics
bank 4 - unused(potential easter egg space)
bank 5 - Display Kernel - lower castle & scores
bank 6 - Main Menu (vertical blank, display kernel and overscan)
bank 7 - Game Overscan
bank 8 - Display Kernel - Top castles
The NTSC and PAL BINs are available in the homebrew forum at Atari Age:
http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85667
Both BINs, as well as the source code, can be found in my blog:

I'm drawing the kings with the playfield which frees up the missiles
(which drew the kings in Warlords) for fireballs 2 and 3. I'm using
playfield score mode to color the kings differently than the
castles. I had to unroll the kernel for the timing to change the
colors and draw 3 fireballs. The size of the unrolled code forced
the top and bottom castles kernels into separate banks.
The overscan section is in a bank by itself, mostly filled with
movement tables that support the fireballs going at 7 speeds in 32
directions(opposed to Warlords 8[though mostly 4] directions and
limited speeds).
The vertical blank section is in another bank by itself to support AI
that copes with tracking 3 fireballs.
The dragon is drawn using the Dolphin fat sprite/shifting row trick
to get a really nicely detailed image. There's currently only 3
frames of dragon animation, espire8 at Atari Age is doing the
artwork. Post #123 in the homebrew forum contains the espire8's
current artwork with 27 frames.
The dragon graphic converter is on my web site in hopes that others
may find the technique useful:

Hmm - my site's running slow for some reason - I've opened up a
trouble ticket with my service provider.
I've recently added "fireball flare-ups", like the arcade version
has, to help force players to quickly release a captured fireball
else risk destroying their own castle.
