thanks for your fast answer...
the thing you wrote is what i also understood about VDEL, but this whole 
thing didn't came across to me as all to spectacular. Yet i read about VDEL 
mentioned in a lot of other cases, like it's some secret trick you can use 
in some other situations.

I think it was intended to help make it easier to create two-line kernels
where player0 is updated on one line, and player1 is updated on the next 
line,
but you want both players to get updated on the screen at the same time, so
the  two players can line up correctly side-by-side, instead of being lined 
up
either  one line above or one line below each other. Fortunately, it's 
actually
useful  for more than that, as in the six-player score trick.
