The low quality is more a factor of bandwidth
limitations than anything else. Even at broadband you
can only go so far in the quality department. But
with casual video such as this, it's important to be
able to provide it on-demand for maximum exposure.

The original intent of these videos was to reach a
broad layman audience, not just preach to the
converted.

A lot of the content in these videos has been covered
already many times over in the CG Expo keynotes so
those already deep into the hobby may not learn that
much new from them. I also don't think I covered the
technical aspects as well as I could have. However,
it is nice as a time-capsule of that reunion at
Nolan's place, and a way to see some of the figures
who chose not to appear on the convention circuit.
The human-interest is where it is strongest.

If I were to personally add to this documentary
somehow, I would much rather spend time interviewing
homebrewers. The fact that homebrewers come from a
very diverse background all over the world is quite a
testament to the global cultural footprint of the VCS.
