The WSS signal seems quite simple and robust. I know that CC
is difficult (encoding text = complex). But WSS seems easier, and
doesn't need a very complex encoding.

I choose a very crappy air TV channel (with lot of
noise/snow; far from perfect). I use an old cable, too long, with bad
shielding. I connect a dirty VCR, with a tired tuner. I record it on
a daily-use VHS tape (already hundreds or thousands times recorded).
I put the tape in front of my loudspeakers during a few seconds. Then
I play it on another VCR (a cheap one with few heads) connected to a
widescreen TV. The picture is horrible, the signal is weak, but the
TV still can switch from 4:3 to letterbox when a 16:9 movie begins,
then back from letterbox to 4:3 when the movie is over. it still works.

The WSS signal seems stupid enough to be robust. If it's
stupid, if it's blocky, perhaps we can do it. If we can analyze the
encoding, we can send it. It can be as easy as sending some white big
playfield pixels during the good line (the 23th).

         Thanks.

PS: in a few days, I will send here the v0.0.1 bin of my first
homebrew, and also a few of my own developpement tools...
