[stella] OT: May the Real Pitfall Harry Please Stand Up?

Am I the only one that thinks something has been lost in the art of game design with the jump to 3D games? I mean, yeah, there were button mashers before, but it seems like they are becoming more the norm. And now, with the Wii remote, you aren't just mashing buttons, you're aggrivating your carpal tunnel while you're at it.

I just think back to the days of 4K of ROM and 128 bytes of RAM and a bunch of people who were determined to make things work. It amazes me that I will gladly spend hours playing Tunnel Runner and have yet to even think about a PS3.

Or am I officially getting old?
